Asam Laksa - FOOD
"Asam Laksa" is a popular Malaysian dish. Usually a hawker fare, this dish has now made it into many cafes and restaurants. Among the 13 states of Malaysia, the one that is most famous for its Asam Laksa is Penang. The taste of the soup is a combination of spiciness, sourness and sweetness. Eaten with thick round rice noodles, the ingredients of the soup include: tamarind (both in paste and in slices), fish meat, mint leaves, ginger buds, garlic, lemon grass, shallots, chillies, turmeric  root, prawn paste and dry shrimp paste (belacan).

 

Asam Laksa

Asam Laksa merupakan makanan yang amat popular di Malaysia. Lazimnya, asam laksa dijual di gerai-gerai makanan, tetapi kini makanan ini mudah diperolehi di banyak restoran dan kedai kopi (cafe). Di antara 13 buah negeri di Malaysia, negeri Pulau Pinanglah yang paling terkenal dengan asam laksa. Sup asam laksa mempunyai gabungan rasa rempah, masam dan manis dan ianya  dinikmati dengan mi laksa. Antara bahan-bahan yang digunakan untuk memasak asam laksa ialah asam jawa (dalam bentuk pes dan hirisan), daun pudina, tunas halia, bawang putih, serai, bawang merah, cili, kunyit, pes udang dan belacan.
