
T. E. Lawrence
T.E. Lawrence is more popularly known as Lawrence of Arabia. He
was considered by many a hero of the British Army during World War
I. Together, with Arab rebels he fought the Ottomans (Turks). He
was responsible for many train raids and the destruction of many
railroads, in particular, the
railroad from Damascus to the Hejaz Desert. These
actions helped cut many supply lines into the Ottoman / Turkish
heartland.
T.E. Lawrence wrote a famous book entitled, "Seven Pillars of
Wisdom". In addition, movies were made about his heroic deeds;
notably David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia.
Malcolm Gladwell in his book, David and Goliath, likened
Lawrence and his band of Bedouin tribes to the underdog (David)
and the Turks as Goliath, the stronger of the two.

T.E. Lawrence lebih dikenali sebagai Lawrence of Arabia.
Beliau dianggap ramai sebagai pahlawan Tentera British
semasa Perang Dunia Pertama. Bersama pemberontak Arab,
beliau melawan kerajaan Otoman / Turki. T.E. Lawrence
bertanggung jawab menyerang beberapa kereta api dan
landasan keretapi - satu daripada yang terpenting
merupakan landasan keretap api dari Damascus ke padang
pasir Hejaz. Serangan-serangan ini membantu memotong
laluan bekalan ke bahagian pendalaman Turki.
T.E. Lawrence menulis buku terkenal "Seven Pillars of
Wisdom". Selain daripada itu, kewiraannya dijadikan inti
kandungan filem David Lean bertajuk
Lawrence of Arabia.
Malcolm Gladwell
dalam bukunya, David and Goliath,
menyifatkan Lawrence serta kaum Bedouin yang
menolongnya sebagai pihak yang tertindas
"underdog" (David) manakala tentera Turki
sebagai pihak yang lebih kuat (Goliath).
