A simile is a figure of speech. It usually (but not always) involves the comparison of an
adjective with another thing. Examples are as follows:

as bothersome as a continual dripping
           on a rainy day
as cheerful
as a lark
as diligent
as an ant
as forgetful as a goldfish
as handsome as a prince
as naughty as a monkey
as a thief
as painful as a thorn in the paw
as selfish
as a fox
as smart as a whip
as smelly as a skunk
as stubborn as a mule
as stupid as a mule
as a donkey
troublesome as a wasp in one's ear
as ugly as sin
