QR stands for Quick Response. A QR Code is a two-dimensional bar code that can be read by cameras and mobile devices (eg smartphones) with scanning capabilities. The code stores information, the most common being the URL (Uniform Resource Locator). A program or an apps then converts the pattern of black and white squares into the stored information.

QR ialah singkatan bagi Quick Response dalam Bahasa Inggeris. "Quick Response" bermaksud gerak balas yang cepat. Kod QR merupakan kod bar dua dimensi yang boleh dibaca oleh kamera dan peranti-peranti mudah alih (seperti telefon pintar). Maklumat (lazimnya pelokasi sumber seragam URL) disimpan dalam kod QR. Suatu program/perisian atau apps digunakan untuk mengubah corak petak-petak hitam putih kod QR kepada maklumat yang boleh simpan.
