Qian 司马迁 sī mǎ qiān was a pioneering Chinese historian
and astrologer. He was responsible for the compilation of the Shiji
史记 shǐ jì (Records
of the Grand Historian). The Shiji 史
记 shǐ jì
spans over 3000 years - from the period of the Yellow Emperor
黄帝时期 huáng dì shí qí to the reign of Emperor Han Wudi
汉武帝 hàn wǔ dì. It was said that he referred to himself
as The Grand Scribe太史公 tài shǐ gōng. He lived during
the Han Dynasty 汉
代 hàn dài.
